These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of RentGuard, a rental marketplace operated by Vouchzen Technologies Limited("Vouchzen", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, resident in Nigeria, and legally able to enter contracts. Tenants and landlords must complete identity verification (NIN, phone) to transact.
2. Accounts and Security
You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity on your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
3. Listings, Bookings and Leases
Landlords warrant that they have the legal right to list properties. Tenants warrant that information provided during KYC is accurate. Leases generated on the platform are legally binding between the tenant and landlord; Vouchzen is not a party to those leases.
4. Payments (Paystack Split Payments)
All payments are processed by Paystack using Paystack Split Payments. At checkout, funds are collected by Paystack and split at settlement directly to the landlord's Paystack subaccount (base rent), the assigned lawyer's Paystack subaccount (legal fee) and Vouchzen (platform facilitation fee). Vouchzen does not hold, custody, or operate a wallet for customer funds, and is not a bank, deposit-taker or money-transmitter. RentGuard coordinates the transaction; Paystack, as the licensed payment processor, handles settlement. Chargebacks or fraudulent payments will result in immediate account suspension.
5. Prohibited Conduct
- Listing properties you do not own or control.
- Requesting or accepting off-platform payments to bypass Paystack settlement.
- Impersonating another person or falsifying KYC.
- Any activity that violates Nigerian law or third-party rights.
6. Fees
The platform charges a flat facilitation fee disclosed at checkout. Legal fees are set per lease and paid directly to the lawyer of record.
7. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts for breach of these Terms, fraud, or regulatory reasons. You may close your account at any time; obligations under active leases survive account closure.
8. Disclaimers
RentGuard is provided "as is". We do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We are not a party to any tenancy and are not liable for disputes between tenants and landlords beyond our role as transaction coordinator.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vouchzen's aggregate liability is limited to the platform fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Enugu State.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
