Trust Center

Built on verification, not trust falls.

RentGuard replaces informal handshakes and predatory agents with a verified, contract-backed process. Here's exactly how we keep every party safe.

Landlord verification

Every landlord submits NIN and government-ID KYC, which is reviewed manually by the RentGuard team before their listing can go live. Payout accounts are validated against the ID on file.

Property verification

A RentGuard field guide physically visits the property, checks ownership documents and confirms that the photos and description match reality.

Tenant verification

Tenants complete KYC before signing a lease. This protects landlords from impersonation and helps enforce lease obligations.

Lawyer verification

Legal professionals on RentGuard are individually vetted, credentials confirmed with the Nigerian Bar Association, and monitored for quality on every lease they draft.

Field Guide verification

Guides pass identity checks, complete inspection training and are rated by both tenant and landlord after every visit.

Fraud prevention

Duplicate listings, price anomalies and suspicious behaviour are automatically flagged. Confirmed fraud triggers a permanent ban and a report to law enforcement.

Platform security

All traffic is encrypted end-to-end with TLS. Row-level security policies isolate every user's data at the database layer, and every sensitive action is written to an immutable audit log.

Payment security

Payments run through Paystack Split Payments on PCI-DSS compliant infrastructure. RentGuard never stores card details and never holds tenant funds — Paystack settles directly to each party.

Privacy protection

Landlord and tenant contact details are hidden by default. All communication is coordinated through RentGuard so no one is exposed to scams, harassment or unsolicited contact.

Shared responsibility

RentGuard secures the platform, verifies identities, escrows payments and enforces contracts. Landlords remain responsible for maintaining and lawfully offering their properties. Tenants are responsible for accurate information and respecting the lease. Together we make renting safe.
