Vouchzen Technologies Limited ("we", "us") operates RentGuard. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect and how we handle it, in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA/NDPR) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Data we collect
- Account: name, email, password (hashed), phone number.
- Identity: National Identification Number (NIN) submitted for manual admin verification.
- Property: listing details, addresses, photos uploaded by landlords.
- Payments: transaction references (via Paystack). We do not store card details.
- Technical: IP address, device data, audit logs of significant actions.
2. Why we process it (lawful basis)
- Contract — to provide the service you signed up for.
- Legal obligation — KYC, anti-fraud, tax and dispute records.
- Legitimate interest — security, fraud prevention, product improvement.
- Consent — where explicitly requested (e.g. marketing).
3. Sharing
We share data with: Paystack (payments), Termii (SMS), Supabase (hosting/database), and Resend (transactional email). Identity documents are reviewed manually by the RentGuard team and are not shared with third-party verification providers at this time. We do not sell personal data.
4. International transfers
Some processors store data outside Nigeria. We rely on contractual safeguards compliant with NDPR §41 and GDPR Chapter V where users are in the EU/EEA.
5. Retention
Account data is retained while your account is active and for up to 7 years afterwards to comply with tax and financial record-keeping rules. Audit logs are retained for the same period.
6. Your rights
Under NDPR and GDPR you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and objection. Contact privacy@vouchzen.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
7. Security
We use row-level security, encrypted transport (TLS), hashed passwords, KYC redaction and immutable audit logs. No system is perfectly secure; report issues to security@vouchzen.com.
8. Children
RentGuard is not intended for anyone under 18.
9. Changes
We may update this Policy; material changes are notified in-app or by email.
